Asplund's double-door cabinet aptly illustrates the enduring appeal of designers Thomas Sandell and Jonas Bohlin's purposely simple, almost childlike Snow collection first launched in 1994. The cutout handles lend the only decorative, albeit functional element, and the piece comes in a range of subdued but distinctive Nordic lacquer shades. Mindfully produced in the small town of Tibro in southern Sweden, with a furniture-making tradition stretching back to the mid 19th century, Snow is fundamentally a handmade product.
