With a frame in steel-reinforced, laminated wood, the steel-spring suspension system is similar to an automobile. Seat cushions are made of CFC-free polyurethane, softened by a continuous fiber wrap, and back cushions are baffled for even distribution and to prevent shifting of feathers for better lumbar support. Fabric covers are removable for cleaning or replacement; leather is upholstered on.
