In the 1940s post-war optimism for the future, designer Børge Mogensen was lauded for his clever daybed-chaise hybrid with a hinged side at the influential exhibit of the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild. Spoke-Back Sofa was still thought too sophisticated for the time and it wasn’t until 1963 that the seating was commercially produced. With the distinctive exposed spindles apparent from any angle, it's available in varied solid-oak finishes with attached loose cushions clad in premium leather or textile.
