With a breakthrough technique of molding wood veneer as a 3-dimensional form, Danish architect Poul Christiansen and Russian industrial and graphic designer Boris Berlin of Komplot create a remarkably comfortable bar/counter stool. Gubi’s 3D seating, in a choice of walnut, beech or oak laminated finishes, has an attractively rounded profile with all its edges pointing away. A black metal center base with a choice of plastic or felt glides completes this variation of 3D, which is included in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
