As beguiling today as when it launched, Tropique captures the timeless luxury of the 1950s Côte d’Azur. In the hands of Hungarian-born, French master of postwar design Mathieu Matégot, the frame is made from stainless steel rods with a distinctive statement curve at the feet. Seat and backrest fashioned from a durable yet gently flexible outdoor fabric—with or without fringe trim—and the hammock-like span comfortably responds to the body’s natural contours.
