Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm designed the Grasshopper in 1968 as a study in structural honesty. The Black Edition renders the chair in a single, unbroken tone: matte black powder-coated steel frame, black leather seat and back. The result is an object that reads almost as silhouette, a piece that holds its ground in a room without demanding it. The cantilevered frame distributes weight with the same quiet efficiency it did fifty years ago.
