Minimalism was never so crystal clear. Mouth-blown glass with a polished edge form the clear lampshade of this classic re-imagined by lighting designer Sofie Refer. Whether on her own or under her studio Refer + Staer, the Danish lighting designer continually plays with the concept of "clear." There's even 7.5 feet of transparent cord that can be trimmed to suit. The high grade of the glass is paired with a fine porcelain socket and stainless-steel accents. A white, low-profile canopy blends into most ceilings. The Mega-Bulb is a bulbous version of the original that uses a G40 clear incandescent bulb (not included). When the Bulb came out, it quickly took several accolades including the coveted Good Design Award in 2001—two years before Sofie graduated from the Danish Design School. The gal knows her lighting. A favorite of A+R, we have regularly showcased these stunning lamps prominently above our counter in the store.
