As much about function as it is about the form, the Nogi Table stands on its own as a design object that can also serve as a stunning dining table or desk. The welded sheets of steel that form this table base are inflated like a balloon, using high-pressure air via an innovative process called FiDU (Freielnnen Druck Umformung, read: free inner-pressure deformation). The effect is metal frozen in time. No two are alike. The crumples and crushes happen spontaneously as the flat steel pieces are filled. Because minimal material is used, the table base is much lighter than it looks. Top it with a glass or wood top, in rectangle or racetrack shape.
The Nogi comes from Polish designer Oskar Zieta, who garnered several awards for his first piece in the FiDU series, the Plopp Stool, which he followed with other collectibles.
