A+R carries more Karimoku lines than any other retailer in the United States. Founded in 1940 in Kariya, Japan, Karimoku has spent over eight decades proving that furniture can be both rigorously crafted and endlessly curious — collaborating with the world's best designers and architects across a family of brands unlike anything else in wood furniture today.

Japan's most celebrated wood furniture maker meets the world's leading architects — each collection born from a real building, shaped by the spirit of its interior. Rooted in the legacy of the Case Study Houses and crafted entirely from natural materials, Karimoku Case is designing the icons of tomorrow.

Founded in 2009, KNS pairs Karimoku's meticulous hand-craftsmanship with a forward-thinking roster of international designers — from Christian Haas to Big-Game to Scholten & Baijings. The result is furniture built to last more than a century, made from sustainably sourced native hardwoods elevated by advanced Japanese manufacturing into something of lasting beauty.

Every bit as considered as its furniture counterparts, Karimoku Cat applies the same obsessive woodworking standards to a new client: your cat. A collaboration with feline health studio RINN, each piece is designed from a "Cat First" perspective — hand-finished solid wood that cats love, crafted to look just as good in your home.

The newest branch of the Karimoku family, WAGETSU was born from a collaboration with LA-based design studio WAKA WAKA. Designer Shin Okuda's cross-cultural perspective — rooted in both Japanese tradition and West Coast sensibility — gives the collection its distinct character: a fresh reinterpretation of everyday furniture that honors craft while feeling entirely of the moment.
